Zoomo Bikes are equipped with preventative maintenance alerts to ensure your riding safety. Read on to see what the error code means and recommended actions.
Error Code 05: Motor hall sensor signal error or lost
Explanation: The motor controller is not receiving a signal from the hall sensor located inside the motor. This is commonly due to a loose connection between the motor controller and the motor.
Action:
Check for damage on the motor cable and signs of water ingress on the motor cable connector.
Look specifically at the motor cable connection.
Ensure the cable is securely connected.
If unplugged:
Turn off your bike and remove the battery.
Reconnect the plug securely, making sure not to damage it.
Insert the battery, turn on the bike, and test it for 1–2 minutes to ensure the connection remains stable.
If already plugged in:
Turn off your bike and remove the battery.
Gently unplug the motor cable connection, making sure not to damage it.
Clean the cable connection pins with a microfiber cloth or electrical contact cleaner. Do not use any other products that might damage the cable (e.g do not use water).
Reconnect securely, insert the battery, and turn on the bike.
If damage or water ingress is found, or if the above steps don't resolve the issue, please book a repair appointment on the MyZoomo App.
Professional Assistance
If the troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue or if there are visible damages to the cables, bring your bike to the nearest authorized Zoomo workshop for further inspection and repair.
Check if an appointment is required at your local store. While some workshops may accept walk-ins, repairs are typically handled on a first-come, first-served basis, or by scheduled appointments. Consult your store’s policy beforehand to avoid inconvenience.
Temporary Solution
If you need to bring your Zoomo bike to our workshop, you can remove the battery and pedal manually. It will function like a regular push bike, so you’ll still be able to ride it.
